Pan African Congress for Ethics and Bioethics, Cameroon

The Pan African Congress for Ethics and Bioethics (COPAB) is a pan-African continental organization established in May 2008 in Yaoundé, Cameroon, and led by its Executive President, Professor Pierre Effa. Its mission is to promote an African approach to bioethics and to develop structures, institutional frameworks, capacities, and scientific cooperation in ethics and bioethics across Africa. Among its principal objectives is the creation of an integrated pan-African space for ethics and bioethics under the auspices of the African Union. COPAB has been recognized as a partner of the African Union Commission.
