WORLD BIOETHICS DAY SERIES

World Bioethics Day is observed annually on 19 October, following its adoption by UNESCO in 2015, commemorating the anniversary of the Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights (2005). The Greek Unit of the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics, which was established in 2015 at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens as an integral structure of the Applied Philosophy Research Laboratory, is the only academic institution in Greece officially authorized by the former UNESCO Chair in Bioethics (Haifa) - now the International Chair in Bioethics (WMA Cooperating Center) - to organize the national World Bioethics Day celebrations. The Laboratory has hosted this annual scientific event continuously since 2016, promoting bioethical dialogue, education, and international collaboration.
