VASILIS POLYCHRONIADIS

Vasilis Polychroniadis (b. 1980) is a visual artist and researcher whose work focuses on painting and philosophy. He graduated with distinction from the Athens School of Fine Arts (2010–2015) and holds an M.A. in Philosophy from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2021–2023). He is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Crete, where his research explores the dynamic interaction between contemporary philosophical theories and contemporary culture, with particular emphasis on the condition of hyperreality. His doctoral dissertation is entitled: The Meaning-Making of Experience in the Age of Hyperreality: Authenticity, Creativity, and Regulatory Will as Conditions of Self-Constitution. From 2000 to 2002, he studied at The City College of New York (CCNY), where he had the opportunity to collaborate with the renowned artist Matthew Barney. He has worked as Head Scenic Painter at the Greek National Opera, collaborating with internationally acclaimed figures such as Franco Zeffirelli. His artworks have been exhibited in major museums and galleries throughout Greece. He also participated in the conference "Me and AI: The Students' Sessions 2022" at Deree – The American College of Greece. In addition, he has a forthcoming scholarly article entitled "The Art of Artificial Intelligence: Exploring Its Implications and Significance", to be published in the peer-reviewed journal Pedagogikos Logos.
