Georgios Boutlas studied Medicine at the School of Medicine of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) and specialized in Orthopedics. He holds a Master’s degree in the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology from the Department of Methodology, History and Theory of Science (now the Department of History and Philosophy of Science) at NKUA, where he also earned his Ph.D. His philosophical interests focus on Moral Philosophy, with a particular emphasis on Kantian Ethics and Applied Ethics. He has published peer-reviewed articles in philosophical journals and edited volumes, and has participated in numerous philosophy conferences. He is the author of the monograph Healing Consent: Bioethics and Medical Ethics (Papazisis Publishers, 2021). He is a member of the Applied Philosophy Research Laboratory at NKUA and has taught applied ethics as an Adjunct Lecturer at the School of Philosophy of the University of Ioannina and the Department of Biology at the University of Patras. He currently serves as a member of the teaching faculty at the Open University of Cyprus and the School of Philosophy at NKUA.
