Ioannis Karamitsos is Assistant Professor of Data Analytics/ Smart Cities, Chair of Graduate Programs and Research Department, and founding Director of the METARIT Research Centre at the University of RIT Dubai, UAE. He is visiting professor at the University of Ionian (Greece). His current research concerns on Machine Learning, AI, Big Data and Analytics, Blockchain, Web3.0, Metaverse, telecommunication security systems and networks, post-quantum computing, cryptography, next generation cloud networks, Internet of Things (IoT), Data Center technologies, Software defined networks (SDN), network modeling and performance analysis, Smart building services, Operations Management and Smart Cities under the ICT and non-ICT convergence. He has also executive certificates from MIT (Artificial Intelligence: Implications for business strategy) and (Tackling the Challenge of Big Data), Oxford Said Business School (Blockchain Strategy), and from Columbia Business School (Driving Strategic Impact Program). He has published more than 90 papers and technical reports, a member of IEEE since 1997, and he is serving as a reviewer in several engineering journals, and conferences. Ioannis have several certifications Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH v.9), Certified Blockchain Professional (CBH), Certified Generative AI Professional (GSDC), Blockchain Expert, CISCO/CCNA Data Center, ISO27002, PRINCE2, COBIT 5.0, IBM Certified Infrastructure Cloud Solution and IBM Cloud Computing Architecture, ITIL, TOGAF 9, and Scrum Master.
